Martin Leech, Managing Partner

Martin is the Managing Partner of Peloton Advisors.  


He has over 35 years experience focusing on private company mergers and acquisitions.  He specialises in the provision of corporate finance advice including financial due diligence, corporate valuations, vendor assistance, supplier reviews, M&A support, strategy development, corporate governance, negotiation support and divestment assistance.  Martin has advised on transactions ranging from $1 million to $5 billion, although he focuses on transactions in the range $1 million to $15 million.   


Martin commenced his professional services career with Coopers & Lybrand in the UK.  He then worked in the United Arab Emirates, Australia and China with PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving back to Australia and joining Deloitte in Brisbane. Prior to founding Peloton Advisors, Martin was the lead Transaction Services partner for Deloitte in Queensland for 4 years.


Martin has worked across a wide range of industry sectors and clients including major multinational companies, SME businesses, government owned corporations and private equity firms but his focus for the last five years has been advising private business owners on value and transactions.

  • Valuation and general transaction advice relating to a number of business transactions in Darwin and Alice Springs
  • Interim Executive Director of Corporate Services at Torres Strait Regional Council
  • Advisor to Qscan on their $735 million sale to Morrison/Infratil
  • Advisor to a legal practice consolidation including assessment of value and due diligence
  • Lead advisor on the sale of a niche benchtop business
  • Lead advisor to Anaesthetic Private Practice on their sale to the listed Citadel Group 
  • Valuation of a medical unit trust in relation to the sale of units in that trust for stamp duty purposes
  • Project manager on the acquisition of Epworth Radiation Oncology by Icon Cancer Care 
  • Advisor to Icon Cancer Care on their $1 billion sale to a QIC/Goldman Sachs consortium 
  • Valuation of various childcare centres.
  • Acquisition advisor to Smartclinics, a major aggregator in the GP clinic sector
  • Advisor to Brisbane Private Imaging in relation to negotiations in respect of licensing and the ultimate sale of the practice.
  • Lead advisor to a privately held wholesaling business including valuation and divestment advice
  • Lead advisor on the sale process of a niche mining technology business including valuation of the company 
  • Lead advisor on the sale of a number of medical practices including valuation of the practices 
  • Valuation of a major printing business in relation to a restructuring of ownership 
  • Valuation of a Mackay based mining services business in advance of a proposed sale of business 
  • Strategic advisor to a niche national bicycle wholesale distribution business 
  • Assistance to a Queensland based construction company and phased exit of owner 


Martin is a qualified chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.  He is also qualified with and holds a practicing certificate issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Martin holds a real estate licence issued by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading.

Benjamin Leech

Benjamin ("Ben") Leech is currently studying for his Chartered Accounting qualification whilst working for one of the Big 4 professional services firms.


Whilst he is currently focused on audit, Ben has a keen interest in finance and helps with the analysis of complex financial information  preparation of sale documentation. 


He has also undertaken 18 months of Hungry Jacks management training, achieving the highest pass mark in Queensland, so he understands customer service very well.
